This week's assignment:
"All good music has dynamics and of course a good song should take you on a journey. This week's song should have a dynamic range of emotion, energy - whatever that means to you, whether it's a pop song w/ an open verse and a big heavy hitting chorus, or an intimate song... that lifts up in certain sections to break you out of the mood. And/or, there's another component. I've always loved songs about specific places or memories, ala Penny Lane or Strawberry fields. Something that evokes a really specific image.
For this week, you can choose a song w/ a lot of dynamics in the writing, a song using specific imagery - and even better if you incorporate both elements."
I'm not really sure what happened here. I think maybe I lost my mind around the 2:30 mark.
lyrics
I'm not sure I understand just what you mean
I'm not sure you comprehend the things I've seen
When the time is right, I will plan my escape
When I take flight, you will stand & wave
Aim for heaven and you get earth thrown in
Aim for earth and you're gonna lose both
Looking into what's next just can't be done
You think you're the best, the war is won
The time is now, should I follow through
Don't ask me how, I don't know if it's true
Aim for heaven and you get earth thrown in
Aim for earth and you're gonna lose both
I'm just muddling through to a better world
Just biding my time 'til I return
To the spot where I stood once before
You know the one
Wonder if you know the end of the song
Wonder where I'll go if I get it wrong
But the time is right, so pick up & go
It's time to take flight, that's the one thing I know
Aim for heaven and you get earth thrown in
Aim for heaven and you get earth thrown in
Aim for heaven and you get earth thrown in
Aim for earth and you're gonna lose both
