The assignment for the week, from Clay:
"How about writing a song with the title, “Monroe Street" that would fit another member of the group…i.e., write a song in the style of Patrick, or Doug…etc.
most of us have been doing the mm3am thing long enough to know the patterns and styles of the rest of us.
Pick whoever you want… but the song title must be “Monroe Street”
it was the name of the street I grew up on in Tupelo."
lyrics
The stores are all closed
And everybody knows
We'd better start praying if we want it to snow
The kids are in bed
We all called ahead
We might change our minds, but we'd just be lying instead
Lying instead
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat, sleep & repeat
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat
Sleep, sleep & repeat
We've all got our dreams
But these days it seems
That there's just too much war in between
But all in good time
What's yours could be mine
We might change our minds, but we'd just be crossing the line
Crossing the line
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat, sleep & repeat
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat
Sleep, sleep & repeat
'til the words come out right
'til we're holding on tight
Watching fireworks fly in the middle of the night
And we'll brace for the storm
It's like being reborn
We've all got our dreams
But these days it seems
That there's just too much war in between
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat, sleep & repeat
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat
Sleep, sleep
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat, sleep & repeat
No one argues with the heat down on Monroe St.
We just sleep & repeat
Sleep, sleep & repeat
