The assignment this week is from Duncan:
"Write a number that incorporates at least two different genres. For example, a country verse with a reggae chorus, or a pop verse, heavy metal chorus, a polka bridge, and jazz solo break."
Man, this was fun. Hopefully it'll be obvious when the genre changes.
lyrics
When the day is at its end
Where will you go, my friend, and do you think you'll like it
When the green has turned to gold
And all the stories that you told come out of hiding
Watching, waiting
When they all say, "hit the brakes"
Do you have what it takes to keep them moving
As the moon fades to the sun
Will they ask if you're the one, and where have you been
Watching, waiting
Before this song is over
Are you tempted to take cover, or are you satisfied
Like the river runs upstream
And the sleep destroys the dream, it keeps you paralyzed
Watching, waiting
And if this really is the start
Of something bigger, near your heart
I think you'd better take note
Of what is good and what is good and what is true
And what is right in front of you
And never lose hope
Watching, waiting
