A song about the magic of writing songs.
Inspired by the Paul McCartney thing on Hulu, in which he talks about waking up with melody of "Yesterday" fully formed. He says that when people ask if he believes in magic, he says, "I have to."
lyrics
v1:
This wasn't here an hour ago
It ain't "Yesterday," but it makes me smile
Another tune, or a song for the road
Another friend to walk me through the miles
pre:
You go to bed with some fears & doubts
and you wake up with a song
We all got some shit we need to work out
We're just trying to say it before we're gone
ch:
It's a mystery that a single song would come to me
Counting little victories, I get to sing
I think it's worth the time, but we'll have to wait & see
If we're talking about magic, I believe
v2:
A stroke of luck or a trick of the light
It always seems to come as a surprise
Can't always wait 'til the time is right
You gotta will the right one to arrive
pre:
You go to bed with some love & joy
and you wake up with a song
It might inspire or it might annoy
We're just trying to say it before we're gone
ch:
It's a mystery that a single song would come to me
Counting little victories, I get to sing
I think it's worth the time, but we'll have to wait & see
If we're talking about magic, I believe

ch:
It's a mystery that a single song would come to me
Counting little victories, I get to sing
I think it's worth the time, but we'll have to wait & see
If we're talking about magic, I believe
