Well, I don't know that I made this song better. I think I just made it longer. I had really hoped to have done at least a little bit of production, but time & my 100º fever decided otherwise. That said, I think I really like the song. Some swampy guitar & Brady Blade drums could make something happen. Side note: I've cleverly rhymed "away" with "away."
lyrics
Nowhere to go but up from here
Nowhere to go but up for air
Nowhere to go it's a mystery
Nowhere to go far as I can see
Locked in or locked out
Close to the edge or roundabout
Getting ready for the rebound the rebound the rebound
Nowhere to fall but down from here
Nowhere to fall so let's let's be fair
No one to call, it's a tragedy
No one to call but you & me
Locked out or locked in
Live to love or live to win
Getting ready for the rebound the rebound again
No way out from the thundercloud
You'd better find your way back in
No substitute for mercy when you don't know how to swim
I can rise & fall with the best of them
Won't heed the call like the rest of them
It won't be long 'til I've made a mess again
My weakness put me on my back
The sickness isn't always bad
I'm tried & true, but lies are all you've had
Nowhere to run but to your arms
You're under the gun, but safe from harm
Locked up or locked away
Not too close, not far away
Getting ready for the rebound the rebound
No way out from this lonesome town
Your heart is moving in
Compassion is the only way your soul will learn to swim
