The assignment this week is from AG:
“Spring is in the air, at least in NYC and my energy level and mindset is very positive. Write a song that reflects that feeling of optimism and breeziness. Any style”
Well, this is something. Somewhere between a bad Broadway song and an After-School Special theme. In hindsight, it's probably a bad idea to write a song on an instrument you can't play.
lyrics
We all need a little sunshine
Just like I need for you to be mine
Open the door and we will find
We're all ready for the springtime
We all need a little daylight
To prove that everything is alright
Even though the sun is trying to hide
We just can't keep it all inside
What do you do when the lights go out
Are you dreaming about when the flowers sprout?
You find there's nothing you can do
To hurry up and make that dream come true
Then you open your eyes, you realize
That it's here, it's finally here
You fall to your knees
And pray for the sun to appear
We all need a little sunshine
Just like I need for you to be. mine
Open the door and we will find
We're all ready for the springtime
We all need a little daylight
To prove that everything is alright
Even though the sun is trying to hide
We just can't keep it all inside
Remember the time when the clouds hung around
And thunder made that awful sound
The rain comes down, but you pick your battles
And you're not even living in Seattle
Then you open your eyes, you realize
That it's here, it's finally here
You fall to your knees
And pray for the sun to appear
Get outside, prepare to collide
With the sunshine in every way
Don't try to erase that smile on your face
You know it's gonna be a new day
We all need a little sunshine
Just like I need for you to be. mine
Open the door and we will find
We're all ready for the springtime
We all need a little daylight
To prove that everything is alright
Even though the sun is trying to hide
We just can't keep it all inside
